Abstract:
Information Communication Technology (ICT) is integral in the management of Educational institutions of higher learning to enhance effectiveness and efficiency. ICT in universities is mainly used in teaching, research and dissemination of information. Today, emphasis is placed on the use of ICT in teaching and instructional delivery of programmes as well as the satisfaction of the clients and management. The purpose of this study was to investigate challenges facing clients (students) satisfaction on the use of ICT in Moi University. The study adopted survey design with a population of 120 sampled respondents from a population frame of 333 students. Utilizing questionnaires, interview schedules and document analysis, purposive and random sampling technique; a cronbach alpha was adopted to determine reliability of research instruments. The data was analyzed both qualitatively and by use of inferential statistics. The study revealed that students’ level of satisfaction was low, they were not represented in the policy formulation and implementation and the study established that staff members and students were not well trained in ICT. The study recommends that the students should be involved in policy formulation, provided with computers and staff to be trained in ICT.
