Abstract:
This concept paper was authored by the Technical Committee on Certification and Accreditation (TCCA) and outlines the conceptual frame and implementation plan for the development of the Southern African Development Community Qualifications Framework (SADCQF) that will lead to the full implementation of the SADCQF by 2010. The first section of the document outlines the background to the demands for the proposed SADCQF and the status of National Qualifications Frameworks (NQF) as part of the whole process equivalences and the integration process of education and training in the SADC Member States. The second section outlines the key components of the proposed SADCQF. The third section outlines the Implementation Plan that will address the key focus areas for the development of the qualifications framework. The document includes four appendices as well as a bibliography.
