Abstract:
This paper focuses on some pertinent developments of technical and vocational education in Zimbabwe. It also reports on policies and activities that promote and recognize the place and role of TVE. Amongst others, it reviews TVE-related degree programme offerings at higher education institutions, and reports on a survey of TVE qualifications of workers at a sample of urban and rural-based SMEs. The paper ends with a recommendation for further consultations and needs analysis amongst stakeholders to determine an improved synergy between higher education, TVE and SMEs in industry.
